Dr. Nguyen’s research focuses structural and contextual risk factors for HIV acquisition and poor HIV health outcomes among youth during the transition from adolescence to young adulthood. She is particularly interested in tailored HIV prevention strategies for key populations, including structural (e.g., cash transfers) and biomedical interventions (e.g., treatment as prevention, preexposure prophylaxis), and strategies for improving ART adherence and care engagement, including the use of mobile technology and novel measures of ART adherence and care engagement.
